NCRIS Support Program

The National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) Support Program has re-commenced following the NSW Government’s Comprehensive Expenditure Review.

Applications that were submitted in February 2023 are currently being assessed. An announcement about successful recipients is anticipated by early 2024.

The NCRIS Support Program provides funding for NSW-based NCRIS research and innovation infrastructure facilities, equipment and technical expertise, and initiatives related to infrastructure facilities funded and supported through the Commonwealth Government’s 2021 National Research Infrastructure Roadmap.

Funding through the NCRIS Support Program will enable NSW-based facilities to continue to operate and build capacity and capability – ensuring thousands of NSW researchers and industry have continued access to the critical infrastructure they need to undertake their important work in areas including microscopy, nanofabrication, bioplatforms and imaging, bringing economic, environmental, health and social benefits to both NSW and Australia.

NCRIS Support Program funded activities will contribute to the below outcomes:

  1. Increase the availability and use of open-access research and innovation infrastructure (e.g. facilities, equipment, resources and expertise).
  2. Increase collaborative R&D and innovation within the NSW innovation community (academia, industry, government, non-government organisations and students).
  3. Increase R&D output, translation and other commercial outcomes and/or contribute to a robust talent pipeline of technical skills and career pathways.
