Applications for the NCRIS Support Program are now open.
The NCRIS Support Program is an $86.4 million, four-year program for world-class NSW research facilities supported by the Commonwealth Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).
The NCRIS Support Program is one stream of the Innovation Research Acceleration Program (IRAP) under the Future Economy Fund. The IRAP delivers infrastructure support grants to enable the delivery of, and equitable access to, essential research and innovation infrastructure.
The first round of the NCRIS Support Program is now open, offering up to $21.6 million in 2022-23 for NSW-based NCRIS research and innovation infrastructure facilities, equipment, technical expertise and initiatives funded through the Commonwealth Government’s 2021 National Research Infrastructure Roadmap.
Funding through the NCRIS Support Program will enable NSW-based facilities to continue to operate and build capacity and capability in areas including microscopy, nanofabrication, bioplatforms and imaging, bringing economic, environmental, health and social benefits to both NSW and Australia.
Applications must be aligned with the NSW 20-Year R&D Roadmap, the NSW Industry Development Framework and the 2021 National Research Infrastructure Roadmap
NCRIS Support Program funded activities should contribute to the below outcomes:
- Increase the availability and use of open-access research and innovation infrastructure (e.g. facilities, equipment, resources, and expertise)
- Increase collaborative R&D and innovation within the NSW innovation community (academia, industry, government, non-government organisations and students)
- Increase R&D output, translation and other commercial outcomes and/or contribute to a robust talent pipeline of technical skills and career pathways.
Successful applicants who accept the offer of a grant will be required to enter into a formal Deed of Agreement with the Department of Enterprise, Investment and Trade relating to the grant. A copy of the Deed of Agreement can be found here.
