The NSW Government, through the Research Attraction and Acceleration Program, has established research networks in areas of strategic importance for NSW. These networks build on the state's existing research and industry strengths and drive innovation through collaboration to deliver social and economic benefits to NSW.
The network model was developed by the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer to establish the NSW Smart Sensing Network (NSSN) in 2016 and was then used as the basis for the launch of the NSW Defence Innovation Network (DIN) in 2017.
